When God carved out of the ground all the beast of the field and all the birds of the air, he brought them to man to see what he would call them. Whatever the man called every living creature was its name. So Adam, the first man, named all the livestock, the birds of the air and the beasts of the field, according to their body plan or structure. It is difficult to tell how many of them existed then. Zoologists estimate that there are over four million animal species on earth. Amazing isn’t it?
